It is so nice when projects outline instructions for building & installing from source right in the damn readme or wiki or w/e -- and while it's rarely fair to be annoyed with the maintainers of a project for not doing more for you, it's also such an easy thing to just list out the dependencies and tooling you need to compile this stuff!

The author perhaps comes off as a bit haughty, but the recipe is so good precisely because it goes out of its way to be anything other than that deep-red, viscous soup that you'll find in most restaurants. I'm pretty sold on this idea that great gazpacho isn't supposed to look good. It's just supposed to taste amazing.

I found out this morning that a store near my house sells jamón ibérico, so I've gone a bit overboard and have been making a bunch of Spanish food today. Gazpacho + sangria + some light tapas. And sure, tapas are maybe a weird thing to make just for yourself, but to hell with that logic and this ham is delicious!
